Captain Avery’s Excursion to Longwood Gardens Set for September 9

If you love  strolling through magnificent gardens filled with architectural  grandeur then sign up for the Captain Avery Museum‘s excursion to Longwood Gardens scheduled for Tuesday, September 9. Note: the deadline for reservations is August 13.

Longwood Acres is located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Pierre S. DuPont purchased the 202 acre farm in 1906 and named it Longwood.

The first garden, built the following year, was the 600-foot long Flower Garden Walk which remains one of the most popular gardens. Soon to follow were the Conservatory, Italian Water Garden, and the acquisition of an additional 724 acres of adjoining properties.

Tickets are $95 for members and $110 for non-members. The price includes admission, lunch, transportation and gratuities.
